Compositions, and methods for administering the same to humans,
are provided for the promotion of healthy fast weight loss while
providing an excellent source of calcium and containing antioxidants.
The compositions preferably comprise three sources of calcium and
include at least one of Calcium Carbonate, Vitamin D, caffeine-free
Green Tea, Garcinia Cambogia Extract, Gymnema Sylvestre Extract,
Ginseng, Grape Skin Extract, Chromium Polynicotinate, and Policosanol.
The supplemental dietary composition may be suitable for individuals
on a calorie-restricted diet and exercise program.
A weight loss program can be implemented at least partially on
a Web server or other computing device. Patient data are input into
the computing device. The computing device determines a weight-loss
program, including a prescription, and provides the weight-loss
program and the prescription to a physician for review before they
are provided to the patient.
Phenolic compounds with a phenolic molecule to which are covalently
linked an oxygen-containing group, a nitrogen or another oxygen
containing group, and a C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkoxy group, obtainable
from monocotyledonous plants, orby chemical synthesis, have been
found to act as weight loss agents, appetite suppressants, mood
enhancers and adjunctive therapy for arthritis, sleep apnea, fibromyalgia,
diabetes and hyperglycemia. Additional chemical compounds of the
present invention may include benzoxazinoids-cyclic hydroxyamic
acids, lactams, and corresponding glucosides, which may serve as
precursors to phenolic compounds. The phenolic compounds and precursors
of phenolic compounds of the present invention, at concentrations
suitable for human therapeutic use, may be obtained from monocotyledonous
plants such as corn in their early growth states which are timely
harvested for optimum yield.
Various weight loss systems and methods and weighted distal limb
sleeves are provided for promoting non-exercise activity thermogenesis
(NEAT). One embodiment is an anatomically-weighted distal limb sleeve
for use in a weight loss program. One such anatomically-weighted
distal limb sleeve is adapted and sized to be comfortably worn on
a distal portion of a person's limb relative to a limb joint. The
anatomically-weighted distal limb sleeve comprises a predefined
amount of exogenous weight arranged on the limb sleeve to simulate
the anatomical distribution of endogenous soft tissue of the distal
portion of the limb. |
